Questions about Wedding Bands

HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE YOU GET MY SIZE RIGHT?

We encourage our clients to research and understand their ring finger size before purchasing a MADANI ring online. That being said, upon purchasing a MADANI ring, you will be glad to know that we offer a worry-free sizing process that you can take advantage of. If your purchase is over $400, this is inlcuded, otherwise, you have the option to add this to your purchase for $25.

HOW LONG WILL MANUFACTURING AND DELIVERY TAKE?

Typical process including the worry free sizing will take up to a maximum of 10-14 business days. However, we are able to prioritize your order and provide rush service if necessary. Let us know the date you need the ring to be delivered by so we are aware and we will be in communication to make sure we deliver on time.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY RING?

We recommend you periodically clean your jewellery in a mixture of warm water and mild detergent to maintain its shine. Use a toothbrush or other soft brush to dislodge any pieces of dirt that may be stuck to the piece. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to polish your item and keep it lustrous. You could always take the ring to your local jeweler or goldsmith, all they need to do is place the ring in an ultrasonic cleaner for a maximum of 30 seconds and then steam clean for a few seconds.

IS THE ENGRAVING INSIDE THE RING INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Yes! You will be happy to know that all our ring purchases come with free engraving service. With regards to character limits, we can always try to fit the entire text that you want engraved within the inside of the ring by either reducing font size or engraving on two lines where possible. The two engraving styles we offer is a Block/Modern style as well as a Cursive/Script style, we try our best to provide for any custom engraving requests for our clients.

WHAT IS AN ALTERNATIVE METAL? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT METALS AVAILABLE?

Alternative metals can be defined as metals that are not typical to the wedding band industry, such as Tungsten, Cobalt, and Black Ceramic. Alternative metals are now a popular choice as they provide a very different look as well as various ranges in price points when compared to the more traditional metals like Gold and Platinum. At MADANI Rings, we are the leader in alternative metal & gold wedding bands where we combine the best of both worlds to provide a unique offering that others cannot imitate.

WHERE ARE THESE RINGS MANUFACTURED?

All our products are made in Toronto, Canada. This is a family-owned business that has been operating for over 30 years now with goldsmith traditions dating back to the 1950's. Whether we are making a wedding band to symbolize your love and connection with someone or making a fashion ring to wear as a statement, we enjoy giving our customers the freedom of expression they deserve.  Each ring is made-to-order so you can be sure that every ring is a one of a kind ring that you will enjoy for the rest of your life!

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes! We use FedEx to ship our ring sizers as well as our final ring shipment internationally. We are able to ship almost anywhere in the world and have already shipped to clients in almost all parts of the world. FedEx provides a great international shipment service with guaranteed on time delivery and detailed tracking information in real-time.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT RING WIDTHS OFFERED?

We have an extensive selection of wedding bands which range in widths from 2mm to 11mm. For a standard men's ring, the typical width is 6mm or 7mm and that is most popular. Rings with diamonds and intricate facets or designs, 9mm becomes a more popular choice. 11mm rings are quite wide but also popular with our clients as they allow for increased design elements due to the wider surface area, it allows us to provide higher diamond quantities and other varying looks. We can always customize the width of a ring you are interested in so do not be afraid to ask! Plain classic wedding bands with no designs at all can be made as thin as 2mm up to 11mm or wider if desired.

ARE THE DIAMONDS WE USE LAB GROWN OR MINED?

All our diamonds that we use are mined. We can always source lab grown diamonds if that is what you desire, the price would be about the same and the look would be the same as well. Both lab grown or mined diamonds are theoretically exactly the same it's just that mined diamonds have been pressurized through thousands of years by natural forces whereas lab grown diamonds have this pressurized process accelerated by mankind and machines.

DO OFFER ANY WARRANTY?

Yes - We offer a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects for all our rings. This does not cover things like accidental damages or scratches (wear and tear). Scenarios where a diamond falls out of the ring could be covered under warranty if the prongs holding the diamond aren't damaged. All warranty requests are handled on a case by case basis. We are reasonable with all repair requests and always aim to make sure our clients are satisfied with the solution options provided.

WHAT IS BLACK GOLD?

Black gold is actually white gold that is plated with black rhodium. Like all rhodium pieces, this may lose color over time. This is normal, but we try to be as transparent as possible with our clients. If requested, we are able to re-plate the black portion of the ring most of the time, if not, we make a brand-new ring for you at a much lesser fee than the original price of the ring. All our clients like the fact that the ring becomes their own one-of-a-kind ring as they continue wearing it, almost none of our clients ask for the replating or remaking of a new ring.

DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes - We offer two ways to break down your payments at the moment.

Option 1 would be to use PayPal credit. They would provide you with a line of credit and you would just checkout on our website with PayPal. We would be paid in full and you would pay PayPal interest free over 6 or 12 months. You can find more information with this website: PayPal Credit

This promo code will allow you to pay 25% of the purchase price for a total of 4 total times at your own pace. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TUNGSTEN AND COBALT?

Although these two metals may look like, they do have some major differences. In terms of looks, Tungsten is a darker metal with a gun-metal color while cobalt looks more like white gold. Tungsten is extremely scratch resistant but brittle whereas Cobalt does not have the extreme scratch resistance but is much more durable and will not break just like gold. Cobalt does fair better for clients looking for a hypo-allergenic ring. In terms of weight, Tungsten will feel much heavier on your finger while Cobalt will feel lighter. We always recommend to base your choice on looks as we are always here for any repairs you may need if you do choose tungsten. We do feel Cobalt does compliment yellow or rose gold great and tungsten may be a better choice for a white gold inlay to provide for contrast. We are always here for consultation so feel free to reach out to us.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 10K, 14K, AND 18K GOLD?

The karat refers to the percentage of pure gold within the gold that you are purchasing. The three karats we offer are 18K, 14K and 10K. 18K would be 75%, 14K would be 58.3% and 10K would be 41.7%. The rest of the metals or makeup would consist of other metals like zinc, copper, tin, nickel, and more, these are referred to as alloys. Every region of the world has their customary karat that is most popular but there is no wrong answer as to what you should go with. The higher karat you choose, the higher the density of pure gold will be within your gold piece and the heavier it will weigh (gold is a very dense and heavy element). We recommend to go with 14K or 18K when choosing yellow or rose gold as it does provide for a richer color. For white gold, there is no difference in terms of looks.
